Overview

The course — run by the Irish Family Planning Association — consists of theoretical and practical training and is run over one weekend: the theoretical training is delivered over 1.5 days and the practical training is delivered over a half day.

The programme has An Bord Altranais Category 1 approval.

Objective

The aim of the Certificate in Contraception Theory is to enable nurses to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a family planning service of high medical standard.

Nurses must be registered with An Bord Altranais
