The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research has published two papers available as PDF online here and here.

The first one, “The contributions of childbearing within marriage and within consensual union to Fertility in Latin America, 1980-2010”, looks at the increase in acceptability of cohabitation over marriage over the past decades and the effect this has had on fertility.

The second one, “Fertility in Rostock in the 19th Century”, is part of a much needed review of existing archival sources into the demographic transition experienced in Germany during the 19th Century and how this reflects the changes occuring, in this case in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, throughout the German territories.
